The Institute for Financial Studies is a full member of the European Bank Training Network (EBTN), the most prestigious European federation of bank and financial training entities. It is the only member of the Spanish state together with the AEB (Spanish Bank Association). The IEF occupied the presidency of the EBTN during the years 2002-2004 and hosted the European headquarters of this association that comprises 40 of the most prestigious financial training institutes from 32 European countries.

The IEF is also the only Spanish member of the World Conference of Bank and Financial Institutes. The next world conferences of this association will take place in Toronto (April 2007) and Dubai (March 2009)

These international associations enable the IEF to permanently collaborate in different types of projects, making it easier to refresh programmes, methodologies and teaching staff with the leading institutions in financial training of each country. This collaboration is materialised by means of the joint development of programmes, association in private international projects or supported by the European Union (Phare, Tacis, Leonardo, etc.), support in transnational training actions by entities present in different countries, etc.
